January 2012 Band Update from The Grey in San Jose, California -- @ListentoTheGrey
The Grey is a hard rock band from San Jose, California. We're writing and rehearsing some brand new songs early in 2012 and can't wait to hit the stages across California this summer. Here's some footage we shot at practice late January of 2012 playing some brand new songs (without a drummer) and goofing off a bit. Subscribe to our channel to get notified of the latest update. And if you want to follow us on Twitter, check out @ListentoTheGrey and @BobbyBoston.
Songs played in this video:
Down and Lonely
lyrics:
Sketch artist in the sand
Tie her off with a rubber band
Shoot it in, it's the human fix
I'm leaving empty again
When the bottle is up, and the chips are down
In the morning you lose your crown
I'm feeling down and lonely
I'm feeling down and lonely
Pink glitter, deep blue eyes
Stealing glances, roll the dice
White lies for olive skin
Get me addicted again
When the bottle is up, and the chips are down
And you go for one more round
I'm feeling down and lonely
I'm feeling down and lonely
Perfect Storm
lyrics:
We lie awake in perfect beds
A perfect storm surrounds our heads
We try to drown it out with alcohol and sex
The next time that you run away I won't chase you
I'm letting your lies float by
Watch the waves flow with the tides
What's been said can be silenced
In sands of time
This medication's wearing thin
And I can finally bleed again
What's been said can be silenced
For all your life
This medication's wearing thin
And I can finally breathe again
As we lie in perfect beds
With perfect storms around our heads
We try to drown out what we've done with what's been said
This medication's wearing thin
As I begin to feel your hand against my skin
Now I'm ready for the pain
I'll stand and watch you walk away
What's been said can be silenced
In sands of time
This medication's wearing thin
And I can finally bleed again
What's been said can be silenced
For all your life
This medication's wearing thin
And I can finally breathe again
Once you were perfect
But perfect washed away and left you naked
And no one ever taught you
How to survive the rain
Genuine
lyrics:
Alcohol and a broken arm are
Standing outside this tavern
On the cigarette porch
My friends all fill their lungs with warmth
I'm zoning out
Riding shotgun to the smoke
Looking out across the street
At years ago what used to be
Our naive dream
Changes swift and unforseen
And I want you to know
I've been trying to stay sober
In a world so drunk, and so messed up
And I want you to know
I've been missing you like home
I don't know what to say, to bring back yesterday
And so back inside where the air is dry
The people high and the lights too bright
A stranger in a stranger town
The saints have left for higher ground
I close my eyes and count to eight
To wish this town back into shape
There's nothing left but memories
The one who's out of place is me
In search of something genuine
But they're shallow as the drinks they sip
And I want you to know
I've been trying to stay sober
In a world so drunk, we're so fucked up
And I want you to know
I've been missing you like home
I don't know what to say, it's over anyway
