How to make ubuntu 11.10 look and feel like Gnome 2
IF YOU HAVE THE GLOBAL MENU FOR GNOME SHELL INSTALLED THE INDICATOR APPLET WONT WORK.
SO REMOVE IT.
Necessary:
sudo apt-get install gnome-session-fallback
sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
Indicator applet:
-sudo add-apt-repository ppa:jconti/gnome3
-sudo apt-get update
-sudo apt-get install indicator-applet indicator-applet-complete indicator-applet-session
-sudo apt-get install indicator-applet-appmenu
App menu logo:
-gksu gedit /usr/share/themes/Ambiance/gtk-3.0/apps/gnome-panel.css
-Add '-PanelMenuBar-icon-visible: true;' (sans quote marks) to the bottom of the 'PanelMenuBar.menubar.menuitem' item and save.
Compiz:
-gksu gedit /usr/share/gnome-session/sessions/gnome-classic.session
-change the line:
RequiredProviders=windowmanager;notifications;
to:
RequiredProviders=windowmanager;
YAY! ur done. if u see untiy when u login to gnome classic open ccsm and disable the unity plugin and log out and back in :D
oh and btw the dock im using is avant window navigator (Y) sorry for not having any sound :\ this is my first video and i will improve in the future..... after i get a mic :P oh and SUBSCRIBE! O_O OR I WILL WATCH YOU SLEEP..... if u are a girl
