Flatts adn Sharpe All Stars!!.wmv

Every year the cream rises to the top and we pick a band to work with exclusively. There was no question that these guys were the top pick after we saw them perform in the flatts and sharpe December show. We worked with them to write 3 original songs and then brought them to Studio Media in Evanston to record their first album. This Album will be available June 22 2012 at the next Flatts and Sharpe Show!

Wilkinson Middle School's Marching Band

Also at the Spring Concert was a preview of Wilkinson Middle School's Drum-line/Marching Band. They were excellent! Bravo! They sound great and the drum-line sounds real slick. We've got Fredrick Barkley on the Snare Drum to the far right. For such a small band, boy do they make a loud noise!

This is a video from Wilkinson Middle School's Spring Concert. Well done, band! In the video includes Jeremiah Barkley playing the bass, David Tumpkin playing the keyboard, Fredrick Barkley on the drum-set, Emmanuel Griffin on guitar, and Band Conductor Craig Hayward playing the alto-saxophone. An excellent performance.

Travis Orbin - Second Cartoon Theory Session - "Hypnotic Nova's Dance"

www.facebook.com cartoontheory.bandcamp.com Max from Cartoon Theory contacted me some time ago to play on another two tunes, this time his project having transmogrified into a full-on collaboration between both him and Breeze. As with the previous session, Max shot me demos with programmed drums and I 'did my thang' on top. I recorded two tunes and a third for an unrelated project early this month at my buddy Anup Sastry's studio. Avid viewers of my videos/those who closely follow my career may already recognize the place and be familiar with Anup's own killer playing. Anup and I achieved some really great tones in a matter of a couple of hours; these are all 100% natural drum sounds. My original plan was to round up six tunes from three different artists and knock it all out at his studio. Unfortunately, it panned out to be a less successful venture than expected but that's life, haha. My 'waiting list' for upcoming sessions is steadily growing and rather than provide an undefined timeline, I sought to maximize my output by bringing some work over there; it's always easier when someone else is running the show, punching you in, mixing, etc. I intend to bring more projects to Anup's wonderful studio in the future! As for gear, in this tune I utilized my Pearl Reference Pure tom-toms, Visions bass drum and my usual set of TRX Cymbals (there's an equipment list on my website under 'misc'); the only discrepancy is the 13"/12" hat setup, as opposed to my usual 14"/13" - I ...
