Maggie & Sam - The Talking Dog (1956)
The Talking Dog is a 1956 short starring Maggie & Sam. Maggie and Sam have finally saved enough money to be able to pay off the mortgage on their home, and Maggie warns Sam to be careful on his way to the bank. Sam immediately runs into a shady character who offers many ways for Sam to lose his money, but Sam resists them all until he is offered a talking dog. San, figuring a talking dog is a way to get rich immediately buys it. He has many rejections before he can get the dog a booking at a theatre. Before the dog can exhibit his skills, a cat shows up and ruins the act. Maggie and Sam lose their home, and Sam ends up in the dog house, with a talking dog as his companion.

It was first published in 1841 in Vocal Melodies of Scotland.[1] Loch Lomond is a large Scottish loch located between the counties of Dunbartonshire and Stirlingshire. The Bonnie Banks o' Loch Lomond is often the final piece of music played during an evening of revelry (a disco or dinner, etc.) in Scotland, a phenomenon not seen in other parts of the United Kingdom. About 1876, the Scottish poet and folklorist Andrew Lang wrote a poem based on the song titled "The Bonnie Banks o' Loch Lomond". The title sometimes has the date "1746" appended[2][3]—the year of the defeat of Bonnie Prince Charlie's rebellion and the hanging of some of his captured supporters. Lang's poem begins: There's an ending o' the dance, and fair Morag's safe in France, And the Clans they hae paid the lawing, Morag—great one in Gaelic—referred to Bonnie Prince Charlie, who fled to France after his forces were defeated.[4] Lawing means reckoning in Scottish dialect. The poem continues: And the wuddy has her ain, and we twa are left alane, Free o' Carlisle gaol in the dawing. Wuddy means gallows, according to Lang's own notes on the poem; dawing is dawn.[5] The poem continues with the song's well-known chorus, then explains why the narrator and his true love will never meet ...

1108 - Ginnie Pig suffering from Heat Stroke.3gp
The video of this poor heat-stricken Ginnie Pig was shot in August 2011. My, thankfully soon to be ex-wife, had put two pets, a black Bunny and our Ginnie Pig in an enclosure in our front yard on a sunny Sunday morning. A bit later I took my son on a trip to race Go-carts, and apparently soon after we left, she and her daughter also left our house around noonish, leaving the before mentioned pets in the 145-150° baking sun!!! When my son and me came home a few hours later, fortunately the black Bunny had jumped out, I found him under a shady bush but the barely breathing Ginnie Pig was motionless, stuck in an attempt to wedge out through the 2" metal chicken wire. I freed the poor thing and took it inside and laid it on a blanket trying for an hour to get it to drink and eat. Then my wife, who I had summoned, tried to get it cooled down for another 30 minutes before it sadly passed away. You can all curse me, as I have done myself countless times, as to why I did not turn on a computer and Google "Ginnie Pig Heat Stroke". Had I only done that immediately after I found him, his life might have beed saved. At least poor Buddy, had a good fairly long life, first two years with his first owners, and then a year with us, having two playful kids, and later a Bunny to keep him company, and yes those two animals where very good friends. For anyone reading this, and who ever come upon a barely moving heat stricken Ginnie Pig, and note apparently Ginnie Pigs are prone to heat ...
