An inspiring story from the UK, A healthy 83-year-old man has decided to give away one of his kidneys to a patient in need. Nicholas Crace is the UK's oldest living kidney donor. He has agreed to give a kidney to a total stranger -- hoping to improve the quality of that person's life. These days, many people donate their organs in case they die. MDFC's 4th Charity Dance Concert - DANCE OST - A Thousand Years (Contemp)
Monash Dance Fusion Club is proud to announce the staging of the biggest production of the club -- Dance OST. In collaboration with Rumah Hope, this event is a charity concert. The event will take place on Friday, May 11th, 2012 and Saturday, May 12th, 2012 and will be held at Auditorium 2, Monash University. This will be MDFC's forth dance concert which will feature over 100 dancers on stage. The audience will enjoy a mix dance genre from Latin, Jazz ,Hip Hop and Contemporary dances. All the training and choreography are done by our very own instructor all the way from the Philippines, Ms. Sharon Barilla, a prominent Latin dancer, and our very own Malaysian instructor, Ms. Sylvia. We are working together with Rumah Hope, a sanctuary, which provides love, peace, warmth, comfort and security for children that were abused or abandoned. We will be donating 60% of our profit to Rumah Hope, as well as raising awareness of this sanctuary.
Help Save Jade: All Cuddled up for a Nap
Jade is a 5 week old kitten we found yesterday on route 7, in the traffic and construction of Tyson's Corner, she had apparently been ruthlessly tossed from a moving vehicle. She has a broken pelvic bone, but has otherwise been given a clean bill of health by the vet. We would like to help give this little kitten a chance at life, but she will most likely need surgery to survive. This is a segment from the nationally syndicated, Emmy Award-winning 1999 special, "Baby Wild Films Presents: The Killer Whale People," hosted by Heart's Nancy Wilson with original music by seven-time ASCAP Award-winning composer Tim Truman. It features for the first time in a television broadcast the complete restored color 16mm film of the Penn Cove orca roundup of August 1970 in which six presumably Southern Resident orcas were taken, including Lolita, and at least three drowned in the nets. The special also features the first-ever TV interview with diver John Crowe, who worked on the Penn Cove capture and was in charge of secretly disposing the carcasses of the drowned orcas, to avoid them being counted in the "take." The Penn Cove capture footage nearly disappeared. A rusting film canister of the film was discovered in 1993 in the archives of KING Television (NBC Seattle) by Contributing Network Producer/Filmmaker Michael Harris, who was on the staff of KING at the time. Several years later, KING 5 News inadvertently used without authorization wild killer whale footage owned by Harris' company, Baby Wild Films, in a KING 5 News promotional announcement, incurring a licensing fee of over $10000. To settle that debt and avoid legal action, KING agreed to issue full, unrestricted rights and license of the Penn Cove footage to Baby Wild Films, in addition to the rest of the station-owned orca capture footage from 1970 to the last roundup in Puget Sound, at Budd Inlet, WA ...

From Matted to Miraculous: Greg's Story
Greg was brought to HSSM by Gulfport Police with a serious neck wound. It appeared he had been attacked by another dog However, his injury was the least of his worries. His fur was so matted that he was unable to walk...and it looked as if it had been that way for a long time. Some animals in his condition would be beyond help, but for Greg it was unmistakable: there was something in his eyes that said "I'm not totally lost yet." A bath, a rough haircut, and two weeks later, Greg's recovery is well on its way to complete. And even better than his regaining the ability to walk---he has now regained his will to live and his zest for life. Greg is just one of the 12000 animals HSSM cares for each year. His beautiful recovery is testament to what YOU help HSSM do, day in and day out. Thank you for your help in the past to allow HSSM to help animals like Greg find their miraculous endings. Now let me tell you that this is nothing like any other senior living facility I have ever seen before. I think Mayor Voepel said it best when he likened it to the most stable cruise ship he had ever been on. This place has some of the nicest private rooms with there own little kitchenets and refrigerators. Multiple game and dining rooms. A bistro, bar and a movie theater.Add to that some of the best views in the city, and you start to get the picture. They are doing their grand opening and open house on Sat 5/19/12 from 10am to 2pm and are located at 11010 Sunset Trail here in Santee (right off the 67 at Prospect). Ex Sister in Law Taking advantage being Dismissive and rude, I just wanted a Plan...
Okay, I would like FEEDBACK, Normally I don't put family stuff out, but am I wrong here?? I have been storing my "EX" sister in law's RV for approx. 10 years free, (Divorced from my brother for 5 year's) putting tarps on it in winter etc.. I have asked over the past year what are the plans to remove it, even suggested donating it (she wants to keep it). I do have pink slip signed off by my brother it was him OR her.. I recently notified her that my house is on the market, I have been cleaning out everything (realtor also asked when is that RV going) I asked her the beginning of APRIL to please come and remove it before June 6th before I have on open house. Her response is (working on it).. Then found out she is planning a trip memorial day (not to pick up RV). Am I wrong to be frustrated when I have always gone out of my way to accomodate in more ways than one...She is recently remarried and recently claimed me on her bankruptcy on money I loaned her years ago. This is her response to most recent request.. I take it as Dissmissive, sarcastic, & rude..I want to see if the general population agrees and hopefully she will realize her condescending dissmissive attitude is innappropriate! NOTE: We had always got along even after divorce, until her new man entered the picture is when her attitude toward me has drastically changed. I get moving on..I don't get being disrespectful & inconsiderate..
