Baking Pumpkin Pie
Just baking pumpkin pie while watching Sherlock Hound. Like I said this is essentially the same as a double recipe from a can of Libby's but with a few changes of my own. * 1 1/2 cups sugar * 1 tsp salt * 2 tsp ground cinnamon * 1/2 tsp ground cloves * 1/2 tsp ground allspice * 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg (although I grate a whole nutmeg in the video) * 4 large eggs * 2 cans of 15 ounce pumpkin * 2 cans of 12 fl oz evaporated milk * 2 thawed/unbaked 9-inch deep-dish pie crusts * 1 thawed/unbaked 9-inch regular-depth pie crust I mix the powders in the sugar's measuring cup, beat the eggs in the big bowl, mix in the pumpkin, mix in the sugar/spice mix, and then mix in the evaporated milk. Cook for 15 minutes at 425 degrees, reduce the temperature to 350 degrees and cook for another 40-60 minutes. Pies are ready when you can enter a knife into the pie and it doesn't stick to the sides. (The knife blade will always take something with it ; you're looking for evidence that the center isn't gooey or pudding-like.) Let pies cool for a couple hours before serving or putting in the fridge. (In my opinion these pies taste so much better when they come from the fridge!) Other tips: Cooking times vary from oven to oven so you'll need to experiment. In my experience slightly overcooking the pies causes them to be darker but taste fine so you shouldn't end up with an inedible mess. 2006 R6S - Hotbodies Undertail LED Modification
The underside of the stock R6S is ugly, huge fender, etc. This hotbodies undertial has cool indicators integrated. The LED's however were so dim you couldn't see them in the day or at night. Absolute junk. Here is the modification thread: forums.beyond.ca I retrofitted super duper bright LED's. My god. It's blinding. These LED's are crazy bright. The video is hard to tell, but there is just FOUR leds in this housing.
The Ultimate Seats Midrider for Kawasaki Vulcan Vaquero 1700
www.ultimateseats.ca First off props to Des and his team at Ultimate seats for excellent same day communication via email and phone, same day shipping and including their Ride on Rain covers for free. There was no peanuts or bubble wrap in the package. The seat seems light (possibly due to the plastic seat pan or two piece construction. It seems like it will be more supportive and comfy than my old mustang vintage wide touring (Honda Sabre) all while keeping that sleek and cool look of the factory seat. There was a hole in the package (ups) No apparent damage to the seats or contents I have to say my initial impression of the bottom of the seat (seat pan) is that mustangs seems more finished and cleaner with their fiberglass vs Ultimate's plastic. The installation will be a little more involved, but I will also retain stock installation and removal once complete. Will have an installation video tomorrow, and a full review Friday.
