1" PVC Horse Bow Speed Test
How fast does my 60#+ horsebow shoot? Approximately 120-130 fps, based on estimates from this video, shooting over a known distance. Ah, to have a chronograph... Sorry about the wind noise - as I figure out how to use YouTube, I might switch out the audio, since it's not really relevant. Currently trying to change it to "Moonlight Sonata". For reference: the core is 34" long 1" PVC pipe, flattened. The ends are 7/8" oak dowels, about 8" exposed on each side. String is 46", with a brace height of 5". It pulls 16 pounds at 5", and increases 2 pounds per inch up to the max tested pull of 25" (my normal draw), It shoots quite a bit harder and faster than my other bows - I should probably think about pushing the PVC harder!
