"If you don't mow the yard, I'm taking away your car keys." The result is you have to mow the yard or else. Fear-based imagery is all around us because it's the easiest way to motivate people. It's an overt form of manipulation. The motivator is always a negative result or consequence. Every time someone says that you have to do something, it results in an immediate push back from their subconscious. If you have even a shred of self-esteem, all forms of "I have to" talk causes your subconscious to get very creative to avoid the manipulation, even when you're the one manipulating yourself. Here is an easy exercise to illustrate the point. Have someone stand up and extend their arm. Don't tell them why. Now, suddenly push down on their arm. Reflexively, they will push back. Egypt is a country that witnessed an uprising that rid it of three decades of authoritarian rule, and is on the verge of ending six decades of military rule. It is all happening at a time of unprecedented poverty levels, and a wide call for a fairer distribution of wealth and the achievement of sustainable social justice. That is a key priority for voters, but will likely not affect the race, since all frontrunners are, or at least campaign, on equal foot stepping, on the social justice dimension. The transition period has been coupled with unfamiliar security lapses to Egyptians, and again that is another priority, where the general perception is, wrong or right, that the two former regime candidates Ahmad Shafiq, and Amr Moussa, might be more successful than the Brotherhood's Mohamed Morsy, or the two other main revolutionary figures in the race, Nasserite Hamdin Sabbahy & Independent Islamic figure Abdel-Moneim Abul-Fotouh. Uni-Cub: as good as flying carpet

Now, the latest technology agenda is quite something; A flying carpet? No, but close. What about something that looks like a floating chair! Look, no hands! It's the latest version of a personal mobility device called the Uni-Cub. The Uni-Cub has one large drive wheel, while a tiny wheel at the back helps for steering. It allows users to turn, rotate 360 degrees and zip around -- all by swaying the body in gentle movements from side to side. If the driver leans forward, the Uni-Cub moves straight ahead lean to the left to go left - it's as simple as that. If it all gets too much, the driver can simply put its foot down and it'll stop. Its riders say scooting about on it is easy.

The McLean County Wheelers sponsor the 2012 Ride of Silence at 7 pm to focus attention on the need for motorists and bicyclists to share the road safely.Every year, hundreds of ROS events are held worldwide at 7 pm local time on the third Wednesday of National Bike Month during National Bike Week to honor cyclists killed on roadways. The event also encourages both motorists and cyclists to obey traffic laws. Illinois' three-foot rule warns vehicles to stay a yard away from bicycles. The latest data available from the National Highway Traffic Safety Institute showed biking deaths dropped to 618 in 2010. That's the lowest total in 30 years despite more people riding bicycles for transportation and exercise. Though good news, the figure represents an average of 1.7 riders dying everyday, about 12 each week. The Ride of Silence will gather at 6:45 pm at the north side of the McLean County Museum of History and proceed north on Main Street to Beaufort, then east on Vernon to Constitution Trail, then north on the trail to Normal City Hall. This year's event takes place as city officials consider a recommendation to add bike lanes to the Main Street corridor. Bicyclists currently can ride streets legally, but bike lanes and signage make motorists more aware of the presence of bicycles. Police from both cities will escort the procession, which has a parade permit.
